Do any of you have problems with your eyes that isn't from your medication or is this more rare? I am just struggling everyday with this! I wake up with normal vision. My vision changes with only reading about 15-20 minutes in the morning. Then it will get slowly get better again if I don't read.

If I read again- say an hour later- it takes less time for my vision to get bad- like only 5-10 min and it's bad already. It will always improve if I don't read.

I feel lighting affects my sight. Bright… read more

I had these problems for years since I was young and I just got diagnosed last October.

I read that Lupus affects our neurological system.

So does fibromyalgia.

That’s why we have so much problems with brain fog... photosensitivity.... headaches...eye problems.

I was diagnosed with both.

What is so bad there is no rhyme or reason for most of the symptoms we experience.

I had these eye issues even before having lupus. The extreme dry eye FROM lupus has made symptoms more severe.

Have you changed your light bulbs to LED bulbs.

Fluorescent lights and regular light bulbs put out the same amount of us as the sun.

I wear my hat indoors when I go shopping Drs appointment restaurants.
I cannot handle bright lights either. Hard on my eyes.

Try dimming the brightness on your phone.

As for driving at night the lights from the cars and city lights are halogen that’s why we see halos and things like that.

It’s part of the photosensiitivty that we are experiencing.

@dphillips61 sorry I've been missing a few days - I got to go home for the weekend!! Still here but leaving this afternoon after my eye appointment. I'm actually excited to see if he can shed some light on my eye problems!

And I did not know that halos and night vision were part of lupus ( I only knew about light sensitivity!) I have had the halos for years but has gotten worse and worse. I guess i knew medications can cause some issues but not that it was a problem otherwise. Good to know! Thank you and I hope you are having a great day! My girlfriend's are begging me to go to coffee this morning so I may have to wait until I have more time to get on this site until tmro! The weather is absolutely beautiful here today!!

I was having problems with this before diagnosed so i know it isnt medication. My rheumatologist said that can happen with it. Esp. With Sjorgens, which i have. Look up symptoms for that. It is common to have that with Lupus. Dry gritty eyes, dry mouth etc.
