Hi there. Lately, when I have inflammation, I feel it most in my upper back. The pain is around my upper shoulder blade. One day it will be on my right side and the next day, it will jump to the same location on the other side? Sometimes, I get a weird tight feeling in my neck/ jaw area, accompanied by the feeling of a lump in my throat. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes I have had those pains. Let me warn you that those are the types of pains associated with Cardiac issues. Please tell your doctor immediately and get your heart checked out just to be safe. Women and heart problems- We do present with very different symptoms than men usually. The Pain in jaw, teeth, neck. The upset stomach and fullness and nausea that doesn't go away even after taking antacids and stomach meds. Upper back pain or pain in shoulders and heavy feeling in arms.

I have the issue with the throat. I don't know seems like they always say anxiety when they don't know what it is...

Mine has been associated with problems further down in my esophagus and another time associated with saliva stones.

I have this issue for over a year now. I have been to my cardiologist, Rheumie, and a pulmonologist. I have been super concerned about my heart, but the pain is always on the left side, between my spine and shoulder blade. Luckily, the cardiologist said my heart is back to normal after my pericarditis and afib. I think it's scarred tissue from my pleural effusion, but the pulmonologist doesn't seem to be so worried. We'll see at my next appointment. Then it could be fibromyalgia. I just know at night it tends to get worst.

I hope you start feeling better. Gentle hugs.

Does it feel like someone is grabbing you from behind? Also, do you exercise regularly? I exercise about 4-5 times a week. For the past few years, I've been dealing with chronically tight muscles up and down my back. From my experience, if you don't deal with the tight muscle, over time others around it will tighten up and leave you feeling very stiff. I have gone through pt, meds, doctor referrals, MRIs, etc. The best advice I can give you is to get regular massages and add in enough flexibility exercises (yoga and pilates). My LMT has been a life saver for getting rid of the tension.
