My primary care doctor believes I have lupus, I have a rheumatologist appointment on April 1st. My Ana test was negative but I have a lot of lupus symptoms and my sister and mother both have lupus. My symptoms include: fatigue joint pain(especially fingers and hips), facial rash, photosensitivity, antiphospholipid syndrome( with multiple miscarriages). I am trying to prepare myself for this appointment but I am extremely anxious.
ANA test doesn’t diagnose lupus. You don’t need positive for Lupus diagnosis. I have lupus discoid and sle but my ANA showed Scleroderma.
I have ANA negative lupus. Diagnosis by AVISE lupus testing. I was positive for both CB-CAPS and antiphospholipid antibodies, also a false positive rpr. My rheumatologist explained to me that lupus is like a fox and can hide anywhere it wants! The first step is finding a smart rheumatologist who listens!
Neg for decades.....had a low ANA a few years ago and has not changed. Lupus should be diagnosed on signs and symptoms not labs alone. They diagnosed my Fibro many years before lupus and should have been other way around.
I had dual markers last year and now I am only showing one autoimmune marker. The lupus labs are now negative, but they are still trying to figure out what I am still fighting. It truly is frustrating because depending on what it is the meds are sometimes different.
It took me 2 years to get a positive result. It can take 10 years to get a positive result, from what I hear. I had all the symptoms of lupus but a negative results it was so frustrating. But hang in there your in a good place this website has all the answers they are an amazing family 🙏💜🦋
