Hi all!

Does anyone have experience with fracturing a bone during a flare?

I fractured my ankle a few days ago (roller skating- ouch!), and I’m surprised at how swollen and blue it is 5 days later! My ankles have always been active in flares and I’m wondering if my body’s both fractured and flaring worse on top of it.

Thanks!

Start taking bone supplements now! Most of us end up with osteopenia or osteoporosis due to med issues and not enough Vitamin D, calcium, and other vitamins. Wish I had started them sooner :( I just finished with 2 years of daily injections of Foteo for osteoporosis. Now go back to Prolia which is every 6 months. Take care!

I fractured my back in April last year. I was in a bad car accident it was an L-5 compression fracture and fractured my sternum... Since then I’ve had one issue after another finding out I have Celiac had to have my esophagus stretched different infections. My back doctor says my fracture has healed, but I can still feel something pressing on my spine. I can’t walk around very long or stand. I’ve had digestive problems I’ve never had. I don’t have the best insurance so doctors won’t do a lot of tests. So yes I think a fracture can set off a flare. I just wish I could get some answers now my doctor is sending to a neurologist. I do have a lot of headaches. Maybe there’s a connection with my spine and headaches. I’m raising my grandchildren I love them dearly and want to be healthy for them! God bless everyone I know everyone on here is having their own issues.

It will probably take you awhile to heal completely!😕 Our bodies are already doing so much! Take it easy, rest and ice!
