Afraid to tell woman about my different medical conditions and she wouldn't want to go out with me.

Hello Jay, I have found myself in the same situation as yourself. I was afraid to date, but being alone just isn't how I want to spend my life. So, I have been dating. I've been open and honest about having Lupus from the first date. I find that most guys do not understand what it means for me to have Lupus. I educate them about my health issues. Most men have not run away. They have shown concern and a great amount of caring. It is possible to have a partner who will show love despite having a chronic illness! This experience has taught me that not ALL men find a woman with a chronic illness to be a burden upon them. Dating has shown me that I can be truly loved for who I am. Life is about taking chances. Most importantly life is about love.

I’m someone who’s extremely upfront about what i want and don’t want at the very beginning so i’d be just as upfront about my medical issues also. That way they can make the choice from the start

I guess it depends but just like I wouldn't tell everything about myself and my life to a stranger, I wouldn't disclose my medical issues right away. I would first see if that person is someone I'd like to get to know and maybe be with. Only time can tell, so I'd give it some time and go from there. But I get your concern. Good luck!

This is opposite of everyone else's advice, I'd wait a few dates before opening up. That's what i did anyways.
