With the pandemic going on, I was switched from monthly benlysta infusions to injections every week to avoid needing to go to the hospital. Learn more about the drug treatment mentioned above. Thanks for the suggestion LAlthea. I just don't want to sound like I'm complaining when I see my rheumatologist next month, so I was trying to see if in the long haul it will get better. Also, before starting injections I already voiced that I would like to go back to infusions when it is safer to be in the hospital. I get the worst anxiety knowing I need to stick myself every week. I've been in the medical field for years and can stick other people, but I just can't do it to myself lol. I also can't go outside of my military hospital for infusions, because for some reason Tricare will not approve it. I have to say though that benlysta seems to work really well with me. I had so many more symptoms before being on it. LAlthea I hope you are having a pain free day, and thank you for responding.
Haven’t made the transition, but encourage you to discuss your health and concerns with your rheumatologist & try to go back to monthly infusions.
Ask about an infusion center to receive Benlysta rather than the hospital’s infusion center.
Prayers for your healing 🙏🏾.
