Benlysta has been good for me. My kidney function is stable. I have not gained weight with my injections.

Great questions! Here's what MyLupusTeam members have shared about their experiences with weekly Benlysta (belimumab) injections:

Some members find the injections tough at first:

- Fatigue is a commonly reported side effect, with some feeling wiped out for days after each dose
- A few members found switching from infusions to injections still caused weekly exhaustion

Others have had more positive experiences:

- Some noticed improvements in skin and joint symptoms over time
- Members reported having more "good days" despite some fatigue
- A handful experienced fewer side effects with injections compared to infusions As for weight gain, Benlysta itself is not widely reported as a direct cause of weight gain. Weight changes with lupus are more commonly linked to corticosteroids like prednisone, lupus nephritis causing fluid retention, or antidepressants sometimes prescribed alongside lupus treatment.

It's always worth flagging any new or worsening side effects — including unexpected weight changes — to a doctor, who can tailor advice to your specific treatment plan. Everyone's response to medication is different! 💙
