My mom has been dealing with chronic pain in her right leg. Sometimes the pian can run from her hip all the way down to her knee. Sometimes she's not able to sleep because of this. Pain medication does not help her at all. Is this a symptom from Lupus, has anyone else experience the same pain???

Im not sure but i know that i have frequent leg pains everyday and at night it gets worse, it only gets unbearable to where it keeps me awake maybe 4 times a month but the pain is everyday. I have pain in my knees as well. The pain in my legs isnt relieved with regular pain meds or elevating and it sometimes goes to my feet. Ask her to try compression leggers which are the same as compression socks. I bought some and they have been working wonders for me. They really help with the pain unfortunately i cant tell u why it happens it just does, sometimes my magnesium, potassium, or vitamin D levels are low when the paln is unmanageable

Jazmin- I’m newly diagnoed with lupus. I have spinal stenosis which causes my sciatica to flare up when i get flares. Its terrible pain in lower back and down my leg, i cant barley walk and its weak at the same time. All the inflammation that comes with my flares makes alot of my old injuries hurt. So to Answer your question for me yes

Could she have a pinched nerve . It could be sciatica. Try heat then ice.

Could be sciatic. I have that. Needs to be diagnosed by dr. Very painful. Heating pad helps me.

I would suggest to your mom that she tell her rheumatologist. Some of us get osteoporosis or avascular necrosis. I have the latter and have experienced the pain you describe. It's excruciating.

Sending my prayers to the both of you. Good night.
