Swelling in the feet and legs can be a common issue for people with lupus. Here are some potential causes and management tips based on the knowledge base:

Causes:
- Lupus Flares: Swelling can occur during lupus flare-ups due to inflammation and fluid retention.
- Prednisone: This medication, commonly used to treat lupus, can cause fluid retention, leading to swelling.
- Lupus Nephritis: A type of kidney disease associated with lupus that can cause swelling in the legs, ankles, and feet.

Management Tips:
- Elevate Your Feet: Elevating your feet can help reduce swelling by allowing excess fluid to drain.
- Diet and Exercise: A low-salt diet can help manage fluid retention. Regular exercise can also be beneficial.
- Compression Socks: These can help manage edema by improving circulation and reducing fluid buildup.

If swelling persists or worsens, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice and treatment options.

I drink apple cider vinegar in a glass of water daily. About a tablespoon of ACV. It stopped the swelling in my feet, ankles, legs and hands by the next morning. It was so painful. Putting my feet up while I slept helped some. Now I don't need to do that. It's uncomfortable. Now, I can stand for longer periods of time. I didn't want the doctors to put me on another pill. So, I go natural when I can.

I get swelling in my legs, feet and ankles. I use compression socks but I also have a prescription for a diuretic when I need it. I try to get up every half hour to hour and walk around and it helps.
