My MRI script note Avascular Necrosis due to my right hip all the way to my leg causing pain. That's what my rheumatologist wrote down but not for sure till I get my MRI this coming Friday? Anyone have the same symptoms and any comments will help me figure out how to handle this kind of symptoms. Thank you all

My wife got the same pain and what i had to do everyday was get her massager and push really deep in the tissue of her but and she said it really hurt but as i kept pushing on the area it started to loosen up and as the days went by the area was getting alot better to where it does not hurt as it use too when i first started. Every once in a while i will rub on it just to do prventive maintnece.seems to be doing the job.

I just had surgery (discectomy) for a massive herniated disk. I cried coming out of anesthesia because my relief was so great. Your mri will show whether you have a bulging disk. I hope that is the diagnosis because, even though it can be excruciating, it treatable. If it’s mild to moderate they can treat with epidural shots and/ or physical therapy. If it requires surgery, it’s not as scary as it sounds. My symptoms were burning, electric- feeling pain shooting down one leg, numbness in my foot, and deep pain with in my hip. This was caused by the disc pressing on my sciatic and other nerves. It doesn’t show up on an X-ray, but will be obvious on an mri.

I have avascular necrosis in my left shoulder, right hip and had both replaced. It's also in my left knee, but I use a knee brace to relieve pain when I am walking.

Your pain sounds similar to mine where I had pain in my groin in 2014. After my MRI, my rheumatologist sent me to an orthopedic surgeon. The surgeon first removed the'dead' bone. Two years later the pain was worse and I had my hip replacement in 2018. Hopefully, you won't need surgery. Please keep me posted. I will keep praying for you.

@A MyLupusTeam Member,
You may want to ask your doctor about avascular necrosis. The longer you wait there are more chances for worse pain.
