I haven’t been feeling well for a few months and it’s gotten worse. Had some tests and my doc says it’s lupus. She thinks it may be drug-induced lupus from the Pfizer vaccine, but not sure yet. Anyone else out there with this diagnosis?

My dermatologist prescribed me Humira for psoriasis which in turn caused drug induced lupus, as did Stelara. I now take Remicade infusions.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Here are some key points about drug-induced lupus (DIL) that might help:

- Symptoms: Common symptoms include joint pain and swelling, fever, chest pain, reduced appetite, rashes on sun-exposed skin, and a general feeling of being unwell (malaise).

- Medications: DIL is often caused by certain medications. Notable ones include procainamide, hydralazine, anti-seizure medications, captopril, chlorpromazine, methyldopa, and sulfasalazine.

- Management: Symptoms typically improve after stopping the medication that caused DIL. Always consult your doctor before stopping any medication, as some need to be tapered off.

- Support: Working with a knowledgeable health professional and having a strong social support system can help manage your condition effectively.

- Diagnosis: Diagnosis may involve lab tests like the Coombs test, ANA test, urine test, and possibly a skin biopsy to rule out other conditions.
