What are the markers in blood tests etc that indicate positive diagnosis of Lupus?

My only abnormal labs were ANA and RF. All the other ones have been negative. While labs are important, they are (or should be) a small part of diagnosis. I had two previous physicians that relied too heavily on labs and wouldn't give me a diagnosis for almost 2 years. Third doctor was a Lupus specialist and told me the first appointment it was definitely Lupus based on my symptoms and the positive ANA. It was very validating and I'm finally getting the care I need. I hope you get answers soon.

The dermatologist numbed a small spot along my chin line and just took a small piece out. Only took about 2 min in office.

Your ANA can change based on whether it is active or not. Mine does. I was diagnosed by my dermatologist doing a punch biopsy after her taking 1 look at me. This is after 8 yrs of symptoms.
