Has anyone ever tested + ds dna but Ana - I’m constantly in pain and losing my hair it’s been four plus years trying to get the right answers
One dr was treating for lupus I went to another for second opinion she said you can’t have lupus with Ana being negative but never answered why I have symptoms that I do and my dsdna is positive and I have bad bone density at the age 34. Four years later pains worse I’m starting over with new primary dr and she wants me to see a new rheumatologist etc.… read more

You’ve already gotten some great advice, so I’m not going to repeat it. I do want to suggest you take your bone density test(s) to one of the doctors you see or are going to see and ask them if there’s any medication you can take to improve your bone density. I broke my wrist at 35 and had to have reconstructive surgery. It was not good. I had the bone density of an 80 yr old. So they put me on a round of injections (I think 3) that help build back bone density. Often older people with osteoporosis take it. Well I had osteoporosis & it sounds like you have it too. 🙁 The only downside is you can only take the treatment once in your lifetime, but really you have to get through life, right. After, make sure you have your vit. D levels checked. That can play a big part in bone health amongst other things. You may need to take a prescription dose of Vit. D. As for your negative ANA, I only had one positive ANA when I was super sick in the hospital & was diagnosed with Lupus. I’ve never had a positive ANA again, so don’t be worried about that. Hang in there & my best advice when going into a new doctor’s or an old one for that matter is to try and write as much down as possible every day. Keep a health journal. How you were feeling, what hurt, when, fever or no fever, sun no sun, stress levels, etc. I know it’s a lot, but if you make a chart you can easily just check most of it off & just write a couple of words each day. Most doctors have a hard time arguing against hard evidence like a daily journal. Best of luck to you. Take care💜

I have had many Ct and mri unfortunately every time I have a seizure they call the ambulance and the hospital always does the scans… my scleroderma test was positive but I don’t know much about that I haven’t educated my self enough but I’m gonna push for all these things tho to get help to get me thru til I see the rheumatologist I had no idea that there were other drs that could assist til I got back on here and have talked with some of the nicest people who help me have hope and faith

Thank you so much for the response this makes me feel better. I have wanted to flip my lid on rheumatologists I’ve seen the second one told me I only have fibromyalgia too. My Ana was negative but dna (ds) positive and scl-70 positive. I have seizures I have had two mini strokes now. The rash on my face. Poor bone density. My bones break easily my first foot dr told me at one point to not cough or sneeze the wrong way because it was so serious. If I knew what I know now 4 years ago i would have handled it differently!!! This time I’ve called everywhere and rheumatologist are so backed up they won’t even take patients so I found one three hours from my house to see me but not til July however I’ve been added to the cancellation list. In the meantime I’m gonna try to get a new neurologist to help me with this. My primary dr just keep ordering scans and physical therapy which insurance don’t wanna pay for and it don’t help I was stern with her that I’ve done that twice and it made it a lot worse. She did give me muscle relaxers and said maybe refer me to pain management but I know nothing about pain management…. It’s so nice to find this group of people to help ease my mind and answers questions in mean time…. I have three kids 4,7,12 and I feel bad this summer we didn’t get to do anything fun because I broke my foot in march and it just not is almost healed ..
