I was diagnosed with Breast cancer first in 2013. Six months later, Sjogrens wanted to join the crowd. I was recommended to see a Rheumatologist who diagnosed me with lupus soon after. As symptoms continued; I was diagnosed with Lupus pneumonitis which later turned into pulmonary fibrosis a year after that. Then there were Graves/ Thyroid disease. I received radiation to shrink large nodules on my Thyroid 2 years ago. April will be my 10 year anniversary celebrating being Breast cancer free. I’ve been going through for 10 years; and haven’t given up yet. I must fight on- no turning back.

I was diagnosed 20 years after the lupus diagnosis with coeliac disease. After years of trouble in that area. Strictly following a gluten free diet has made such a difference to my lupus symptoms as well. After changing rhumatogist the new one says he tests all lupus patients for coeliac disease.

I was diagnosed with lupus and mixed connective tissue 3 or so years ago but had Raynaud’s since high school . IBS since 18 years old. Arthritis in neck before lupus Dx. My rheumatologist had talked about me having fibromyalgia as well. I think I had many of these issue before DX but didn’t recognize it was a disease process until it became acute.
