Any other details are appreciated/ like what you did for pain reduction during….
I’m getting one done on my back( if that helps with answers) and I’m currently stable, only on hydroxychloroquine.
Thank you! Blessings to all!
Here are my two big-ish tattoos I've gotten in the last year. I'm on hydroxichloroquine and methotrexate and stable. Advice might depend on the size and detail of your piece. If its more than 3 hours I would stay away from numbing cream my friends with big tats say it wears off after a few hours and going from somewhat numb to middle-of-tattoo pain is really nasty from what they said. I just did breathing and listened to an audiobook on my biggest one (6.5 hours)
If you do multiple sessions don't do them back to back because you will SWELL after the tat. In fact I say pop some anti inflammatory (like ibuprofen or naproxen) before you go to sleep i swelled so much overnight with the healing process. It went down after a couple days.
For me healing happened twice as slow as it should. So make sure you take care of the tattoo and use a water based moisturizer on it all the time and if your saniderm comes off early (or if you're bound with meat packs) wash with a scent less soap twice a day using only your hand. No washcloths.
Normal tattoo advice applies too. EAT A FULL MEAL AN HOUR BEFORE. Bring snacks and a water bottle. Talk to your tattoo artist about what options there are. My tattoo artist had liquid lidocaine she used midway the tattoo. It help on the rougher bits. Dont be afraid to tap out and schedule a follow up later.
I have had many many tattoos done after my diagnosis and it did not affect me in any way. Find a good artist. They will take care of you!!
It all depends on the person, I got my tattoo with having lupus and RA. I’m friends with the tattoo artist and I was comfortable with him doing it. My tattoo is my profile picture
No don't believe you should do that to your body and I don't heal well from plan old sores very fast.
