The retina specialist thinks this is caused by my steroid use, but I stopped all steroids and it's still happening. Wondering what you all think.

Doing some more research, I see that lupus is known to predispose us to this problem, and stress can aggravate it.😘

ELA, I have a friend with lupus who also developed this problem from steroids. I hope your vision stabilizes soon. Please keep us posted.

@ela70 thanks for the extra info! I think I may have some similar symptoms so I’ll definitely see what the rheumatologist says … ii see the wiggly lines but it’s intermittent and I mostly put it down to have migraines with just aura and no pain sometimes (because I do get migraine headaches with visual aura). I’m also very near sighted though so I know I’m higher risk for retinal detachment and whatnot as well, so I suppose it could also be unrelated to lupus - I tend to blame everything weird that happens on lupus! I’m sorry to hear you can’t use pred and other steroids that were helping you, and hope you find some good alternatives soon!

Thank you for confirming this. From what I've read, it does seem to be not uncommon amongst lupus sufferers.
Thank you! Will keep you posted. I have a recheck in June.

You are so welcome! I am also super nearsighted and have already had surgery on my left eye to repair a tear in my retina. That, I know, had nothing to do with lupus, but like you, I also blame everything on lupus or Sjogren's! Lol It seems to cause every symptom in the book! Anyway, good luck with your eye symptoms, and be sure to see a retinal specialist just to be certain there are no tears or holes in your retina and no fluid buildup. :)
