Hi Everyone,

I went to my PCP today. Lord! I have a sinus infection which will be treated but it extends all the way down my neck. I also showed hlmy doctor the rash I have. I clean the area twice a day with peroxide then put some cream on designed to take itch out. It works but only temporarily. It turned out to be a severe yeast infected rash. I felt like a piece of crud. My doctor prescribed some medication for it.

My question nus, has anyone else had itchy skin that became infected? I… read more

Hi Catherine,

Yes, the yeast likes warm, moist areas to grow. It takes time to get the infection under control but you'll get there. Maybe at this point, it might be worth it to get a prescription medication for the infection. My doctor prescribed Nystatin powder. It's working over the OTC anti fungals. My arsenal of creams is ridicules. I hope that the infection gets better and you stop itching.

My skin keeps changing and I've been having issues with yeast with the major heat and my drastic weight loss and I've found that one cream works one time and it doesn't the next or I have to use a mix of them on my skin to knock it out. Our Lupus skin formula changes on us. I have so many creams and ointments from various things that has happened just the last few years. šŸ’œ

Well it wasn’t itching , I actually didn’t realize it was there until like I wiped that area with my hand and it was like wet. I looked and it was raw and stinging some but it keeps coming back.

Yes! It is certainly ok to get your rant out here! We’re here to support!
Someone on here suggested taking family/friends along on your doctors visits. Hearing it from a doctor may help them realize that lupus isn’t a joke!

I think coconut oil would work for that!
After showering, thoroughly dry the area then saturate it with coconut oil.
Make sure the jar says organic, unrefined, cold pressed coconut oil

Darlene9, get used to me. I just like making (bad) lupus jokes sometimes. That one really wasn’t about me I have better family support than most. My kids have seen what I’ve gone through with lupus so they are pretty supportive. DONT give up on family though. We need each other. Our job is to teach them more about lupus. If they are around you, they can see the good the bad and the ugly, lol

Lupus served some of us a crooked hand … we look fine to the naked eye, lol! And yes, it could be worse we could be covered in polka dots or worse the word ā€˜lupus’ all over our body!!! Aarghh!

Lets just try to live our best life and move on!
