I have suspected this for sometime. I was told 13 years ago that I was hypermobile. I still have several symptoms that I have talked to multiple drs about that have not been tied to my current list of diagnoses. Many symptoms that have been dismissed, overlooked or I have been gaslighted about over the years. I have done plenty of research, documented everything and am next going to address the condition with my orthopedic surgeon. If you have any advice or feel like sharing your experience I… read more

It sounds like you're navigating a challenging journey, and you're not alone. Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) can share symptoms with lupus, such as joint pain and fatigue, making diagnosis tricky. Accurate diagnosis is crucial for proper treatment, so documenting symptoms and discussing them with your orthopedic surgeon is a great step. Others with hEDS often recommend physical therapy to manage joint issues and being persistent with healthcare providers. Stay strong!

I have Ehlers-danlos. I would be more hypermobile if I didn't have Rheumatoid Arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, or other forms of arthritis. My surgeon was able to bend my thumb all the way back. I have other Ehlers-danlos symptoms, such as lots of pain and dislocated joints. My youngest son is very hypermobile, but that is the only symptom he has.

My son has EDS and we are just learning things about it. It makes me hurt to see him sometimes because it looks so terribly painful! He is just 19.
