I have a lot of health issues, so I try to narrow down what is causing what. I made a pic so I don’t have to constantly remember 🤣brain fog is real. Maybe someone has something I have and has input on the vibrating feeling.

Thank you. I have my thyroid checked every 3 months. And I’ll make an appointment with the cardiologist soon, when I have too many appts clumped together, I get very overwhelmed. I don’t think it’s serious, I think you’re right, i do think it’s a symptom of something on my list, probably the lupus or graves. The first time I had heart issues, it was when I found out I had Lyme so I get that checked every three months. Lyme caused PVC’s and SVT’s but this is different, it comes and goes, it’s like a butterfly is in there for a few minutes. I wish symptoms didn’t have to sound crazy.

I should add that if your symptoms become severe or you have associated chest pain, shortness of breath, or dizziness along with it, please get checked right away. Please try not to stress about it! It's not that unusual for us lupies to get arrhythmias, and they are generally treatable. 😘

Jill, please see your doctor, as this could be due to arrhythmias, myocarditis, cardiomyopathy, etc. It's worthwhile having your thyroid function and electrolytes rechecked if it's not been recently done, as an overactive thyroid can cause palpitations, as can electrolyte abnormalities. Your doctor can get an EKG, Echo, and a 2-week Holter heart monitor checked if you're unable to see a cardiologist quickly.

I have this symptom, too, and I have arrhythmias due to lupus. Please keep us posted.

Heart palpitations, including vibrating or fluttering sensations, are indeed common with lupus. This happens because lupus can affect your heart and blood vessels through inflammation. About half of people with lupus experience some form of cardiovascular symptoms.

Many MyLupusTeam members report similar experiences, particularly during flares. Some describe it as fluttering, skipped beats, or racing sensations that can be quite alarming. While most heart palpitations are harmless, you should seek immediate medical attention if you experience:
- Sudden breathlessness
- Passing out after palpitations
- Pain/tightness in chest, jaw, neck, or shoulders
- Sweating along with chest pain

It's always better to get checked out if you're concerned. Your rheumatologist can help determine if your symptoms are lupus-related and adjust your treatment plan if needed.
