Muscle twitching or jerking can be a symptom of lupus, particularly lupus myositis which affects central muscles. These involuntary muscle spasms (called myoclonus) can occur randomly or in response to certain triggers. Some people experience them daily, while others have occasional episodes.

The stomach discomfort could be related to gastroparesis, a condition that can occur with lupus where the stomach empties food too slowly. This can cause nausea, abdominal pain, and feelings of fullness that might contribute to feeling faint. It's important to have your daughter's healthcare team evaluate these symptoms, as they can help determine if medications need to be adjusted or if additional treatments are needed. Some lupus medications can affect muscle function or cause gastrointestinal side effects, so tracking when symptoms occur can help identify potential triggers.
