Even laying on the couch you can do simple low impact excersizes. Like lift your leg just a bit n tighten your abdomen as you do this. You can lay on your side n lift the right or left as far as you can. What I do for my back in bed or on the couch or floor...push your lower back into the couch or floor and hold 10 seconds relax n do it at least 10 times or work up to 10 times. Helped my back issues alot. You can even do that standing against a wall n push your back into the wall. I have a few more but that should help if you're able to do this. Start slow n work your way up.
Hope this can help you too

Can prolonged lying down cause weak and tingly legs with lupus?

Yes, lying around for extended periods can contribute to weakness and tingling in your legs, and this might be related to both positioning and lupus-related nerve issues.

Prolonged sitting or lying down, especially when lupus-related fatigue forces more rest, can place pressure on nerves and reduce circulation. This pressure can lead to uncomfortable sensations in your legs, including tingling and weakness.

However, the tingling and weakness you're experiencing could also be from peripheral neuropathy, which occurs when lupus causes inflammation that damages nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. This nerve damage can cause:

* Numbness
* Tingling or pins-and-needles sensations
* Weakness or inability to move parts of the body

Peripheral neuropathy commonly affects the legs and feet in people with lupus. The sensations can vary from person to person and may feel cool, warm, or like a crawling feeling. Since you're dealing with back issues that limit your mobility, it's especially important to talk with your doctor about these symptoms. They can help determine whether your discomfort is from positioning, nerve damage from lupus, or a combination of both.

If you experience sudden weakness, inability to move your legs, loss of bladder or bowel control, or trouble walking, seek emergency care right away as these can signal a more serious problem.
