Will you please explain what you mean by popping in veins and muscles? Is it happening with movement? I get joint popping but I’m not sure if you mean something similar with veins and muscles.

Do others with lupus experience popping or snapping sensations in their veins and muscles?

You're definitely not alone, and you don't sound crazy at all. Many MyLupusTeam members describe similar experiences with popping, cracking joints and muscle sensations.

Here's what members have shared:
* "My joints always pop. It sounds like when I crack my knuckles."
* "I sound like a bowl of Rice Crispies with my bones popping."
* "My lower back pops and cracks when I'm doing floor exercises or yoga."
* "It sounds like I'm microwaving popcorn. It feels like bone on bone."

These sensations can have several causes related to lupus:

Joint popping may result from inflammation in and around the joints, tight muscles causing friction around bones, or ligament and tendon movement. In lupus, your immune system attacks your tissues and organs, which can cause inflammation that contributes to these sensations.

Muscle twitching and spasms are also common. Members describe experiences like "tiny one-time spasms over different parts of my calves, ankles, and thighs" and "uncontrollable muscle twitching in my legs, arms, and torso."

It's worth discussing these symptoms with your doctor, especially if they're bothersome or affecting your daily activities. They can help determine whether it's lupus-related inflammation or another contributing factor and recommend appropriate treatment.
