I keep a Frogg Togg towel damp in a large ziplock bag in the fridge at work and small ice packs to help when I’m too warm and no one else is. I use tea tree oil on yeast rash and it helps it resolve overnight at times.

How can severe hot and cold sweats and a yeast rash under the breast be managed with lupus?

Hot and cold sweats can be frustrating, especially when they impact your daily life. These symptoms are actually common with lupus. Hot flashes, low-grade fevers, and heat intolerance often occur with the condition, and excessive sweating can be particularly uncomfortable when you already have skin issues.

The yeast rash under your breast sounds like it could be candidal intertrigo, which happens when moisture, lack of air circulation, and friction create an environment where yeast thrives. This can cause a bright red, moist rash that may itch, burn, and hurt. The sweating you're experiencing can make this worse by creating more moisture in that area.

Here's what might help:

For the sweating:
- Keep your home slightly cooler and use fans
- Wear breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics
- Talk to your doctor about whether the sweats could be related to lupus activity or a comorbidity like thyroid issues

For the rash under your breast:
- You'll need to see your doctor for proper treatment of the yeast infection, as antifungal medications are typically needed
- Keep the area as dry as possible
- The best long-term solution is keeping your lupus under control

A MyLupusTeam member shared similar struggles: "I, too, have a problem with what I disgustingly refer to as 'boob juice.' Soaking wet with awful rashes."

Contact your doctor soon, especially since you mentioned the skin may be raw. If the rash is warm to the touch, oozes fluid, or shows signs of swelling, these could indicate infection, which needs prompt treatment.
