I use Natures Bounty Tumeric 500 mg with black pepper. I asked my doctor how much I should take. Hope that helps God bless.

What's a good turmeric supplement brand and dosage for inflammation?

While specific brand recommendations aren't available in the research, here's what's known about turmeric supplementation for lupus-related inflammation:

Dosage Information:
Studies have shown that curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) doses ranging from 500 milligrams to around 2,000 milligrams daily helped reduce inflammation and related symptoms.

Important Considerations:

Curcumin doesn't absorb well in the body unless it's made with special ingredients to help absorption. Look for supplements that include ingredients to enhance bioavailability.

Before starting any turmeric supplement, it's essential to talk with your doctor because:
- It can interact with blood thinners
- It may affect drugs that weaken the immune system
- Scientists haven't yet established specific dosing guidelines for lupus

What MyLupusTeam Members Say:

Some members have found success with turmeric for managing inflammation, though experiences vary from person to person.

Your doctor can help you determine if a turmeric supplement is right for you and recommend an appropriate dose based on your specific medications and health needs.

I think it is helpful but I don’t want to take too much. My Sed rate was down to 4 and last year I think it was around 20.

I am considering adding turmeric to my cooking. I will use turmeric spice from the grocery store. I already use a lot of black pepper. I am trying not to add more supplements unless my doctor suggests something. My cardiologist much prefers that I look to food sources first.
