On my right upper thigh and my right lower leg and the back of my right calf how does this happen? I always bruise easily but this is ridiculous and it seem like I’m getting more and more than normal. I’ve been up all day since I came in from church this morning packing because I am leaving for vacation for a week. I just hope that I can finally get a little R&R once I’m away from home Thanks Lupus Warriors. Love you lots. 🦋🦋🦋

Members responded to a question about unexplained bruising with both empathy and helpful insights, with many sharing that they experience the same thing and reassured the member they are not alone. Several members pointed to possible causes including lupus flares, low platelet levels (ITP), blood thinners, high INR counts, medications like Prednisone, and supplements like turmeric. A recurring theme was encouraging the member to see a doctor or urgent care for a CBC blood test before vacation, while still wishing her a well-deserved rest.

I get bruises on the top of my arms, so I asked the doctor and he said it was a side effect from my lupus. Meds, it's the one that starts with the HI can't say it.\n Have a great day.

Please see your doctor ASAP! Increased bruising or nosebleeds, gum bleeds, etc., could indicate. low platelets due to lupus or other blood disorder, as @A MyLupusTeam Member says.

If you can't get an appointment, please have urgent care check a CBC for you and then enjoy your vacation, Lenore. They can call you with the results. Better safe than sorry!

Some medications such as Prednisone cause us to bruise the easily. I will look up other causes and add my findings.
