My husband knows he should talk to his doc (and he will) to figure out if its meds or if it's nerves or _____. But until then, anyone try things that help? A shower, lotion, something OTC, a fan, your birthday suit (🀭 Yeah yeah, that won't help, but the wife had to try...). I just know it's making him miserable. πŸ˜”

I found a homeopathic cream that temporarily relieves neuropathy pain in the feet. It's called Magnilife. I got mine from Walmart. I also massage my neuropathic pain points with castor oil for additional relief.

Here are some natural remedies you may or may not be aware of. See the link below.

What can help relieve the crawling, tingling, or "phantom bug" sensations that come with lupus-related peripheral neuropathy or skin sensitivity?

First off, you're a great advocate for your husband! πŸ’› That creepy-crawly feeling is genuinely miserable, and you're right to want some relief options while waiting for the doctor's appointment.

Here are some things that may help in the meantime:

- Lukewarm (not hot) showers β€” hot water can actually make skin sensations worse and strip moisture
- Gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer after showering to soothe sensitive skin
- Antihistamines like loratadine (Claritin) or cetirizine (Zyrtec) β€” some MyLupusTeam members have found these helpful for skin-related sensations
- Compression socks β€” can help promote circulation, especially if Raynaud's is involved
- Keeping warm after showers, particularly hands and feet
- OTC pain relievers like acetaminophen (Tylenol) may take the edge off One important caution β€” if he's recently started a new lupus medication, that could be contributing to these sensations. It's worth noting the timing when he speaks to his doctor.

Also, please don't let him stop any medications on his own, as that could trigger a flare. The doctor visit is definitely the right move! πŸ™Œ

@A MyLupusTeam Member Thanks for the article! Your reminded me that I bought ginger massage oil for him that is suppose to help with circulation (goal was for edema), which seems like it could have a double benefit. I will try that next time. πŸ₯° Looking back at it now, might help with raynaud's too.

Good morning, LauraMatranga.
I have the opposite problem with my weight. I've gained about 25-30 pounds of extra weight just in the last few years. Every morning I have a small bowl of oatmeal with one cup of coffee β˜•οΈ, and in the evening I have a very late dinner 🍽. I'm very conscious of what I eat, but I'm still gaining weight!
