What a rough stretch — a flare, cold, sinus infection, and pneumonia all in a row is genuinely a lot to deal with, and it makes complete sense that you're exhausted and missing work. With lupus, infections can hit harder and linger longer because the immune system is already compromised, especially if you're on immunosuppressants or steroids.

Since you're already on antibiotics and feeling somewhat better, here are some additional things that may help support your recovery:

- Rest as much as possible — your body is fighting hard and needs the energy
- Stay well hydrated — fluids help thin mucus and support recovery
- Try a saline sinus rinse — available over the counter, these can help clear lingering sinus congestion
- Monitor your temperature — if fever returns or spikes above 100°F, contact your doctor right away
- Track your joint pain — the knee and shoulder pain could be lupus-related and worth flagging to your rheumatologist The joint pain you're experiencing in your knees and shoulder is really important to mention to your rheumatologist, as it may signal that your lupus is still active or flaring alongside the infection.

Don't try to push through this alone — looping in your care team now gives you the best chance at a faster, safer recovery and getting back to work sooner.
