I feel normal and fine except for the occasional fatigue here and there and achy joints and back, but lately I've been bruising like crazy. Would your low platelet count have another underlying issue. I also had TTP which is another autoimmune that affects my platelets. It is something else to keep an eye on with the lupus. I had TTP first and prednisone was the medication they used to get this under control. I know ITP is essentially the same thing.

I also have SLE and ITP currently I am taking Cellcept, Plaquenil, low dose prednisone, and NPLATE injections weekly for my low platelets. My hematologist told me that Cellcept and Plaquenil could potentially cause low platelet counts..for now the NPLATE is helping my counts are slowly increasing (they were 38,000 last Friday) but still not in a safe range..its all very frustrating ..

I have lupus and TTP - I was on prednisone and platelets kept on falling and I landed three times in hospital - polygam did not help and then I received chemotherapy - that helped and currently my platelet count is climbing and it helped with the muscle pain associated with lupus

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement...platelets are a little better...over the past 3 weeks they have went from 60 down to 20 (as of yesterday). The doc keeps increasing the NPLATE but it doesn't seem to be helping...
