Has anyone had the Avise SLE + Connective Tissue 2.0 test done? I was diagnosed with Lupus a year ago with a high positive ANA and other testing. My rheumatologist is now running this test on me. Does it mean if it comes back negative I don't have Lupus?

Hi Catie,
I was just curious what your Avise test showed. I just saw a new Rheumatologist that told me I don’t have Lupus after being told for twenty years by three different Rheumatologist one of them being a specialist on Lupus. Many positive and negative ANAs over the years exhibit all signs of Lupus. She takes one look at me and says I don’t have Lupus and orders the Avise test! Waiting on results will see her in two weeks. I’m beyond frustrated and confused. Was your Avise test positive? Thank you so very much and I hope you are feeling well.

Thank you Anna...that is what I was thinking too, but I read on Lupus.org that this new Avise SLE test tells doctors if you actually have Lupus or not because it tests more of the markers for it. It all makes me so confused as I know lab tests change all the time. I have had good lab and then bad. My ANA was positive then negative then high positive again. I have been on Plaquenil for over a year now and also Cymbalta, Lyrica for muscle and nerve pain. I haven't had to be on Prednisone for the last couple of months, so that is good.

no I think it looks at how active your lupus is. Even if you have negative lab tests you can still have lupus
