I've been using Xiidra for dry eyes for 5 days now. It is a lot to take 15 min in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening to sit there with burning, blurry eyes. Wondering if anyone else is using Xiidra and what your experiences are with the drops? Also any tips on getting the drops to come out of the vial would be appreciated.Seems like they don't come out at first and it is painful with the arthritis in my hands. Does the burning go away? I don't take anything for dry eyes i got a sample of eyedrops from my eye doctor 2 years ago and that's it they've expired and because i can't afford to see any of my doctor's really i haven't been to them. My girlfriend bought me clear eyes i think and they help.
I started using Xiidra a month ago and its helpful to me. The burning is uncomfortable for the 10 min period but worth it to me. My insurance denied Restasis also. My lid gland get blocked up, so I do a microwave hot compress two times a day. this really clears out the oils and really makes my eyes blurry but seems to be a great companion to the drops. as far as daily drops, I use Similasan dry eye relief drops as they don't bother my eyes like all the other ones I have tried.
I have been using Xiidra as well. Restasis BURNED terribly for me. My ophthalmologist has me use Refresh Optive Advance preservative free eye drops in the single use containers. I put a drop in each eye and then use the Xiidra. I find if I shake the container with the tip down the drops will come out easier when I twist the cap off.
I have also had punctal plugs (that fell out) so he finally cauterized my tear ducts.
I use Restasis and it does not burn and it is easy to use.
Thera tears is good too helps a lot no burning 🌈🌈
