Trying to find a good diet to help with my wifes wellbeing. I am sure some of the foods my wife Cheryl eats are not helping her

There are as many "lupus diets" as there are lupus patients. Unless she has a food allergy or intolerance, a balanced diet, low in animal fat, high in natural fiber, and that limits processed food is best. The only food that is a no no is alfalfa sprouts. I know you want to help her. Diet may improve lupus symptoms but it will not cure lupus or erase the symptoms completely. She needs to be taking her medication and managing stress, the biggest single cause of lupus flares. This may irritate you. If it does, I apologize, but from years of living with lupus myself and years of working with lupus patients, I can tell you that she has to take charge of her health. If you take charge, she doesn't have to. Diet is one very small piece. Dealing with difficult emotions, stress reduction, regular moderate exercise, proper use of medication, communicating clearly with medical providers and more are things she has to do as a self-manager.

Hi when I stay away from sugar, flour, red meat, fast food, hot dogs, salty food I do better. Eating them causes fatigue and deep muscle pain

I can hardly lift my coffee cup. Or pour milk from a 1/2 full jug just so I can have cold cereal.

I agree with you about the food. The muscles pain is unbelievable just walking or holding something. I can barely hold my 3 month old grandbaby.

Just Today 4/2022 I’ll b in charge of my health reasons I enter this Wonderful Team. Retired now, time for me. I didn’t know, nor Drs advised me of the importance of my diet. I’m like a Yo-Yo. I barely eat to avoid triggers. I need Help on a good Lupie lifestyle of healthy food.
My first Retired homemade meal was delicious and the next day I was sick, fatigued, moody and Discovered for the First time after 20+years of diagnosis the effects that some food are not good for us. My homemade Meal by me had a ton of Garlic. Who knew? Now I’m part of This wonderful Team. I paid my dues the hard way. I need all the advise I can get. No More Garlic 😇🥰
