Evening everyone. I don’t often notice people posting about spinal and or joint problems, I’m sure I must have just missed them. I’m scheduled for an MRI for possible sciatica on top of reoccurring bursitis, si joint narrowing and hip arthritis. I have my coping tools and I’m exhausted with it all to be blunt! Does anyone have these compounding issues with joints, tendons etc?

I am so sorry to see so many with this. I too have all of the spinal problems, closing off my spinal cord pressing nerves....only help is pain meds, ice rub from Dollar tree, tylenol-only one that works, pain patches from "Dollar tree, and my 3 times a day pain meds..
I recently had a choice of surgery or do a shot...I took the shot in the spine.hurt like the dickens, but it has lasted since March. times a day pain meds..I can take up to 4 per year...it is a steroid...so painful but only one hard pain against now going on 6 months with minimal pain...was a no brainer...I am 78..don't wannt to go under the knife again....
My heart goes out to all of you...Lupus is a strange and painful disease...there have been new studies that seem to think it is something doing with our antibodies and is encouraging....Let us pray it is.successful...
I think for me, it is not allowing it to gum up my day...I don't focus on it...I take my meds, watch my diet, do what I can, try to be grateful for the little things I can do...I don't dwell on it or I would get so depressed..which only makes it worse...so I try to remember...I have it...it does not have me...

absolutely. SI joint dysfunction, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, severe hip pain cause of osteoporosis. My finger joints swell and become red and hurt. cannot take steroids because osteoporosis is severe. yep it's a challenge everyday. I am grateful for what I can do and the team of doctors that I see regularly.

@A MyLupusTeam Member You are not alone! I've read many of your posts on here and our symptoms are so similar. My biggest complaints are SI joint pain and hip pain. It's a consistent burning aching pain I've had for nearly 2.5 years. Just randomly showed up one day and has never left. Positive ANA and neuropathy for me as well. No other tale-tell signs of Lupus in bloodwork or symptoms. Plaquenil hasn't afforded any relief. I was just prescribed Lyrica that I am going to give a try to at least take the edge off the pain. I hope your MRI gives some answers! I've had many x-rays with nothing come up that could point out what is going on.

I have all kinds of joint issues, nerve damage and issues w my spine/back! I've told my PT therapist I think I'll just do a trade in on my back because of all the issues I've got than add the compound issues w my lupus now. I went through a huge trauma 2 years ago Ann's this is what the doctors feel tethered my lupus but it also triggered more issues w my back!! I've had 4 back surgeries take meds to help w all the numbness, joint issues I have in my back and down my legs so I hope all goes well for you and know if you work w how to watch what you do, eat and try and plan as best you can to help yourself things fall together for you!!!

Oh yes, I have constant SI joint pain, lumbar spondylosis and diffuse idiopathic skeletal hypersitosis. I am in pain everyday, now it is getting so bad that the more I move the harder it becomes. I am told that my cartilage and ligaments are hardening around my spine, splintering and forming bone spurs. They cannot stop it so my only treatment options are physical therapy and pain pills. My outlook is that despite it all, I will overtime lose mobility! 😕
