Hello everyone! I’m new to this group and not sure how it works but am wondering if anyone can recommend a good diet for lupus. I’m currently in active lupus as they refer to it, and simple things can be draining. Thank you so much for your help and happy holidays to my new lupus family!

Yes, absolutely avoid Nightshades. As they increase the inflammation and trigger flare-ups. Here is some valuable information, regarding Nightshades.

Hello, I too am new to this... I am not able to take any meds, so per my doctors this is what i do. 1500 mg of Tumeric, I suggest organic. We have amazing Power Foods that really are great Antioxidants. I know this sounds different, but works. Cumin,Tumeric and others are great for inflammation. Believe me, it takes the pain away. When i am in a flare, i go to the Power Foods and look up recipes for inflamation. I freeze my leftovers for when i need it. I hope this helps. Welcome! And have cooking, its a good stress reliver to me.

Hello - I have read the "Plant Paradox" by Dr. Gundry. It has changed my life and habits. Its worth a read even if you don't follow it to the letter.

I just started using The Lupus Diet Cookbook by Karen Willard; The Lupus Cookbook by Ana Reisdorf. I completely went off of meats, dairy, sugars, preservatives etc. well I do it about 98 percent of time. I basically eat raw nuts, some fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and fresh (not frozen or in a box) salmon. They have wonderful easy recipes. I use hemp milk and coconut oils. I lost 10 pounds in three weeks due to my change. I do cheat here and there, but I’m doing really well.
