Has anyone gotten the vaccine for the coronavirus? If so did you get any side effects?
As a RN, I have received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Sore arm after first one. Headache and fatigue for about a day after the second injection. I feel more comfortable working now that I’m vaccinated.
Yes I have taken I am okay get ready for the second one next week's will let you more input.
Haven't received the vaccine. Currently Minnesota is vaccinating teachers and ??? (Don't remember who else was included). I see Rheumatologist in February, so I'll hear what her opinion is. I plan on getting it. Dr. Thomas of the Lupus Encyclopedia says yes, but check with your doctor.
I'm a nurse. I got 2 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. I got arm pain after the first dose. Then after the 2nd dose arm pain also. The next day after the 2nd dose I was feeling chilled, body aches, and fatigue. Went to bed early and then nothing the next day.
As a clinic worker in an elementary school, I was very hesitant to get the vaccine with all my underlining conditions. I talked to my rhemologist. He said take it if you have it available. I took the first dose two 1/2 weeks ago. I had a mild sore arm. No other side affects, yet. I urge people to get it. I would rather have mild discomfort than having long term effects of covid and lupus; and/or being alone in a hospital; and/or being on a vent; and/or dying alone, without my loved ones. Stay safe everyone!
UPDATE: Yesterday was BAD. Today was so/so. I received by second vaccine for covid this past Saturday. I was fine yesterday morning. I took a nap and everything started to flare. I haven't felt like that since the first year that I was diagnosis with Discoidal Lupus, SLE , and Hypocomplementic Uticaria Vasculitus. I had chills, fever, muscle and joint ache, and fatigue. I couldn't go to sleep because it all hurt so bad. Today, I feel as though I can function. I am hiving (itching, particularly at the site). I haven't done that in a long, long time. I heard this second shot would affect people differently. Please don't let this discourage you in receiving the vaccine. 24 hours of pain is worth it for more time on Earth with loved ones. I am hoping to have great day tomorrow.
