I am new to this sight. I need to know what some of your trigger foods. People who do not have Lupus think they know what I go through and know everything. Nothing seems to help! I am sooooo tired all the time. Naps do not help. Any advice from my fellow team would help.
A major food trigger for me is any product that contains RED 40, YELLOW 5, AND YELLOW 6. It is a chemical that is BANNED IN THE EUROPEAN UNION NORWAY AND AUSTRIA. It is a dye used for coloring for foods especially candy.
Tomatoes are a trigger food for me, anything too spicy. Ever since I had my gall bladder removed, it is amazing I can eat anything. I had to do a food elimination diet to figure out what I could and couldn't eat. Dairy triggers me, but only if I do too much of it within too many days. It's funny, after you watch what you are doing, you get to know your body. I cannot handle soy at all. It put me immediately into the bathroom. Raw vegetables can do the same, but only some of them. Rice is an inflammatory for me, so I stay away from it altogether. I can eat all the garlic I want, so it is really going to depend on you and your body. Food journaling will be your key. Some people can't eat red meat, where I can. Although, I try to eat more chicken than anything else.
Definitely get plenty of rest although it may seem as if you dont ever get enough. For me red meat is a tornado on wheels for my body and stomach. The inflammation gets everywhere including my back, rib cage, arms just it affects a lot. I mainly try to only eat things like chicken, turkey, and sometimes old family traditions of neck bones or something like that. It all really depends on your body, the best advice everyone gave me on here was to start a journal. Write down what u eat every day and if u notice a difference make a note of it in the journal, about a month after just review it and youll know your triggers. Like for many they cant have garlic but i eat it all time, i think red meat is definitely a no no for most though. Good luck hun
