So sorry you are experiencing all of this. I to have nose sores at the moment with dry blood whenever I blow my nose. I had to invest in a Vicksburg humidifier and some nasal drops. From time to time I put Vaseline in the nose cavity but not too far in there. Lol I hope this helps as it did for me. Here is a picture of the drops I use for my nose. Also I drink lots of water that helps with my dry mouth issues.

That sounds really miserable, and you're absolutely not alone — these are all recognized symptoms that can come with lupus. Let's break down what might be going on.

Dry Mouth
Lupus can directly cause dry mouth, and studies suggest up to 79% of people with lupus experience it. It can also be linked to Sjögren's syndrome, a comorbidity that affects moisture-producing glands. Some things that can help include:

- Sipping water frequently throughout the day
- Sucking on sugar-free candy or chewing sugarless gum
- Rinsing with cold water or using dry-mouth specific mouthwash
- Trying over-the-counter artificial saliva products (sprays, gels, toothpaste)
- Asking your doctor about prescription options like pilocarpine (Salagen)

Nose Sores and Nosebleeds
Lupus can cause ulcers and sores inside the nose, which may be contributing to both the sores and the frequent nosebleeds. For a nosebleed, try:

1. Sit upright and lean slightly forward
2. Pinch your nostrils for 10–15 minutes
3. Apply a cold compress to the bridge of your nose
4. Breathe through your mouth while doing this

Seek medical help if bleeding doesn't stop after 20 minutes or you feel dizzy. The most important step right now is to contact your rheumatologist and let them know about all of these symptoms together. They need the full picture to figure out what's driving everything — whether it's lupus activity, a medication side effect, or a comorbidity like Sjögren's syndrome. Don't try to manage this alone — your care team is your best resource here.

I use prescription pilocarpine for dry mouth and throat.. It sometimes causes sweating, but at least I can swallow. I also use OTC XyliMelts, made with Xylitol. They are especially good for overnight use. They adhere to your mouth and slowly melt. I find that using one on the roof of my mouth lasts for about 4 hours overnight. I buy mine on Amazon.

I have dry mouth from my sjogren’s and I take pilocarpine for it when it’s really bad. The problem with pilocarpine is that it gives me terrible hot flashes, so I only take it when I have to. I have found something called Flintt’s Mints. They have something natural in them that stimulate saliva production. I believe they were formulated for pot smokers but it also really works for my Sjogren’s. I wake up with a really dry mouth, and I pop one of those in there and voilà, saliva! Here is the link https://www.flintts.com/collections/all?
I bought a variety pack at first to figure out which strength would work for me and now I just buy those flavors. Hope it helps. Good luck.

EmpressBey, I was told by my previous rheumatologist that my dry mouth and eyes were symptoms of my Psoriatic arthritis. I've been tested, though not recently, for Sjogren's without positive results. Whatever the cause, I'm throwing everything I can into minimizing the symptoms. My rheumatologist prescribed the pilocarpine and it really helps, but I hate the accompanying severe sweating I sometimes get.
