Is there any special diet that helps with lupus, or certain foods to eat or avoid??? I'm going to try and stop drinking soda, and stick to my water and occasional hot tea. But didn't know if there was anything else. Also I've heard of detox drinks like cucumber and ginger and mint in water. Does that work or anything else to detox?

There is not a specific lupus diet. Being your best health-wise is always going to be better for you in terms of flares, etc. Lupus has affected my digestive system, so I see a gastroenterologist and registered dietitian to come up with a diet plan that is good for me. Remember, everyone responds differently; you want to keep a log of symptoms and discuss things with your doctor.

I was told to watch out for added sugars and preservatives as well. I googled anti-inflammatory foods. Also found info on Pinterest as well

doc told me alpha sprout can cause really bad flare ups. I read on net that with an over active immune system best to eat lots of fruit veggies, and a high lean protein diet. I found a lot of useful tips by doing an online search.

I have read that white potatoes, soy, are not good for you if you have Lupus. You can look it up somewhere I am sure.
