I am a 46 y/o female
Since 2019, I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Hashimotos, Sjogrens, and Raynauds.
I have been experiencing symptoms that concern me, because many I look up talks about RA, and most I look up talks about Lupus. An acquaintance (who has Lupus) has seen the redness on my face and discussed some of my symptoms, and she insists I have Lupus (no, she's not playing doctor, she's concerned and wants to help).

I would suggest a different doctor, one who will answer your questions in a straightforward manner. "Does the lupus specific testing reveal that i have systemic lupus? Yes or no." (Dont settle for Well.....maybe.)
Have you had a chat with your GYN? Mine found that I had a hormonal imbalance going on due to Perimenopause, which actually has most of the same symptoms as lupus. I always thought that my symptoms were lupus related, but my RHEUM insisted that my labs were stable. After a while, I couldn't take the pelvic pain anymore and went to see my GYN. She found that my ovaries were pooping cysts left and right and growing fast, and I had lots of joint pains, brain fog, allergy issues, to name a few. Since going on low dose birth control pills, my symptoms have gotten much better.
Thanks for the comprehensive report about your symptoms. I had never heard of ear wax as being a bothersome culprit-- so that's something to consider regarding my vertigo episodes.
Seems odd your doc is hesitant to make a diagnosis if SLE. I would get a new rheumatologist - see if his/her conclusion differs. Good luck.
The Hashi’s, sjorgens and Raynauds are often found alongside Lupus so I think it would be in your best interests to test for it.
Because you have other autoimmune diseases you likely are positive For ANA antibodies. ANA is a more general antibody that tells a doctor if a patient likely has an autoimmune disease and if the test is positive, they dig deeper. Since ANA is not disease specific and can show up because of your Hashi’s or Sjögrens, you need a more Lupus specific antibody test, like dsDNA. That specific antibody is most often found in Lupus
It looks like you’re already on the medication they usually prescribe for Lupus tho...Plaquenil. They don’t usually give a stronger medication unless Lupus is causing organ damage. So even if you are diagnosed they may not put you on anything new
Good luck and I’m sorry you have these issues to deal with. They are not unfamiliar to many of us here
I would ask doctor to test you for Lupus antibody, just a simple blood test. I was having all kings of problems and symptoms and doctors were treating me for each one separately. I got tested down in San Francisco medical hospital and came back positive for the Lupus antibody. Afterwards started treatment and was better.
